With four cracker themes to choose from, follow this easy step-by-step tutorial to create your own bespoke Christmas crackers and delight your guests with a handmade holiday experience.

MATERIALS

Here’s what you’ll need to make your photo ornaments:

• Printable Cracker Template

• A4 Cardstock (thin but sturdy 180-250gsm)

• Scissors or a craft knife

• Double-sided tape (my preference) or glue

• Ribbon or twine (optional for decorative accents)

• Bone folder or embossing tool for scoring lines

• Printer

• Ruler (preferably steel)

Step 1: Purchase and Print the Template
Start by downloading the Christmas cracker template of your choice and print it on sturdy A4 cardstock. Choose a festive design to match your holiday theme.

Step 1: Cut Out the Template
Use scissors or a craft knife to carefully cut along the solid lines. Be sure to include the diamond cutouts for easy folding.

Step 2: Score and Fold

1. Use a ruler or bone folder to score along the indicated lines.

2. Fold inward along the scored lines for crisp edges and a professional finish.

Step 3: Assemble the Cracker

1. Apply double-sided tape or glue along the end panel

2. Roll the cardstock into a cylinder and overlap the panels on opposite ends to secure the cracker with the adhesive.

Step 4: Add the Fillings

1. Insert your small gifts, jokes, or sweets into the middle of the cracker.

2. Optionally, add a cracker snap for a fun “pop” when pulled.

Step 5: Tie the Ends

1. Use ribbon or twine to tightly tie each end of the cracker.

2. Fluff the ends to create a festive, finished look.
